Kristy Bridgmon's Birthday

Louetta and Meda planned a surprised birthday party for one of Bear Valley's hardest workers. Kristy spends hours of her week each week helping out at the building. Most of the student body and several faculty members celebrated with this sweet lady. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, KRISTY!

Louetta and Meda--the master minds.

Beautiful BIG cake! See if you can read the message.

Beautiful little cake, too.

Youth Devo--35 youths!

Brett began last night with an exercise on trust and working together. His lesson was about what happens when we put our trust in the wrong places but how we need to trust each other and always put our trust in God! There were so many good comments from the youth group, lots of good singing, and great fellowship. It's been amazing to watch our youth grow closer over the last several months. We have such great teens and pre-teens!

Bear Valley Sings And Prays On August 21, 2009

Johnson Kell continues to do such a great job organizing the BVSAP events. Friday night was no different! 75 people, including singles, youth, families, middle-agers, and the elderly--an elder and seven deacons, assembled to pray about our evangelistic efforts, our mission works, the Cambodia trip, the incoming class at the school, Bob Turner's work in our extension program, our elders, our vision statement, Bill and Pam Stewart's work in recruiting for the school, our upcoming lectureship, and much more. The songs Johnson chose deftly fit in with the particular prayer requests he fleshed out for the evening. No better way to spend an evening than with church family petitioning the Father's throne and lifted hearts of praise in song to him!

Church Picnic

What a wonderful day together!  Sunday morning's sermon was "We Are Family."  All through the day we enjoyed each other as family.  The food was delicious.  There were plenty of games and meaningful conversations.  The devotional was enjoyable (and observed by many park goers who wandered by the pavilion).  The Vance family organizes this each year and, as Shawna says, works because of an army of volunteers.  We have such a great church family!
